In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Cherukuvada Sriranganadha Raju of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Satyanarayana Pithani of TDP by a margin of 12,886 votes which was 9.29% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Satyanarayana Pithani of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Mudunuri Prasada Raju of YSRCP by a margin of 3,920 votes which was 3% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Satyanarayana Pithani of INC won this seat defeating Karri Radha Krishna Reddy of TDP by a margin of 15,755 votes which was 13.27% of the total votes polled for the seat.
