In 2014, Thiriveedi Jayaramulu of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating N D Vijaya Jyothi of TDP by a margin of 10,079 votes which was 6.47% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Kamalamma P M of INC won this seat defeating Chennaiah Lakkineni of TDP by a margin of 36,594 votes which was 27.08% of the total votes polled for the seat.
