In 2014, Venkata Sujay Krishna Ranga Rao Ravu of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Thentu Lakshmu Naidu of TDP by a margin of 6,958 votes which was 4.13% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Venkata Sujay Krishna Ranga Rao Ravu of INC won this seat defeating Thentu Lakshmunaidu of TDP by a margin of 24,172 votes which was 15.69% of the total votes polled for the seat.
