In 2014, Dr Desai Thippa Reddy M S of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Challapalle Narasimha Reddy of BJP by a margin of 16,589 votes which was 9.82% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, M Shajahan Basha (Jaha) of INC won this seat defeating R Krishna Sagar Reddy of TDP by a margin of 10,872 votes which was 7.89% of the total votes polled for the seat.
