In 2014, Alla Rama Krishna Reddy (Rk) of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Ganji Chiranjeevi of TDP by a margin of 12 votes which was 0.01% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Kamala Kandru of INC won this seat defeating Tammisetty Janaki Devi of PRAP by a margin of 12,762 votes which was 7.9% of the total votes polled for the seat.
