In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Uma Sankara Ganesh Petla of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Ayyanna Patrudu Chintakayala of TDP by a margin of 23,366 votes which was 13.4% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Ayyannapatrudu Chinthakayala of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Uma Sankar Ganesh Petla of YSRCP by a margin of 2,338 votes which was 1.43% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Bolem Muthyala Papa of INC won this seat defeating Ayyannapatrudu Chintakayala of TDP by a margin of 8,287 votes which was 5.47% of the total votes polled for the seat.
