In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Balineni Srinivasa Reddy (Vasu) of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Damacharla Janardhana Rao of TDP by a margin of 22,245 votes which was 11.47% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Damacharla Janardhana Rao of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Balineni Srinivasareddy (Vasu) of YSRCP by a margin of 12,428 votes which was 6.85% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Balineni Srinivasa Reddy (Vasu) of INC won this seat defeating Edara Hari Babu of TDP by a margin of 22,986 votes which was 14.69% of the total votes polled for the seat.
