In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Kambala Jogulu of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Kondru Murali Mohan of TDP by a margin of 16,848 votes which was 10.37% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Kambala Jogulu of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Kavali Prathibha Bharathi of TDP by a margin of 512 votes which was 0.35% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Kondru Murali Mohan of INC won this seat defeating Kavali Prathibha Bharathi of TDP by a margin of 27,133 votes which was 20.19% of the total votes polled for the seat.
