In 2014, Kakani Govardhan Reddy of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Chandramohan Reddy Somireddy of TDP by a margin of 5,446 votes which was 3.14% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Adala Prabhakara Reddy of INC won this seat defeating Chandra Mohan Reddy Somireddy of TDP by a margin of 10,284 votes which was 6.6% of the total votes polled for the seat.
