However, because of only one contesting candidate in this constituency, voting was not necessary for this seat and the candidate was declared the unopposed winner.

In the 2009 Assembly elections, Jarkar Gamlin of INC won this seat defeating Yomto Jini of TMC by a margin of 599 votes which was 6.14% of the total votes polled for the seat.
