In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Viswarupu Pinipe of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Aithabathula Anandarao of TDP by a margin of 25,654 votes which was 15.15% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Aithabathula Anandarao of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Babu Rao Golla of YSRCP by a margin of 12,413 votes which was 8.28% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Pinipe Viswsarupu of INC won this seat defeating Chinta Krishna Murthy of PRAP by a margin of 6,273 votes which was 4.54% of the total votes polled for the seat.
