In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Anna Rambabu of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Ashok Reddy Muthumula of TDP by a margin of 81,035 votes which was 41.34% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Ashok Reddy Muthumula of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Anna Rambabu of TDP by a margin of 12,893 votes which was 7.08% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Anna Rambabu of PRAP won this seat defeating Byraboina Chandrasekhar of INC by a margin of 7,546 votes which was 5.1% of the total votes polled for the seat.
