In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Venkatrao Talari of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Muppidi Venkateswara Rao of TDP by a margin of 37,461 votes which was 18.78% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Muppidi Venkateswararao of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Talari Venkatrao of YSRCP by a margin of 11,540 votes which was 6.19% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Taneti Vanita of TDP won this seat defeating Usha Tigiripalli of INC by a margin of 14,653 votes which was 8.97% of the total votes polled for the seat.
