In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Mohammed Mustafa Shaik of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Mohammed Naseer of TDP by a margin of 22,091 votes which was 13.68% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Mohammad Musthafa Shaik of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Maddali Giridhara Rao of TDP by a margin of 3,151 votes which was 2.03% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Shaik Mastan Vali of INC won this seat defeating Shaik Showkat of PRAP by a margin of 9,012 votes which was 7.6% of the total votes polled for the seat.
