Demographic profile

There were a total of 2,41,103 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election, of which 1,17,329 were male, 1,23,757 female and 17 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,37,817 registered voters, of which 1,17,329 were male, 1,21,173 female and 26 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 2,27,596 registered voters in this constituency, of which 1,10,924 were male, 1,16,650 female and 22 of the third gender. In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Mule Sudheer Reddy of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Rama Subba Reddy Ponnapureddy of TDP by a margin of 51,641 votes which was 25.33% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Adinarayana Reddy Chadipirala of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Ramasubbareddy Ponnapureddy of TDP by a margin of 12,167 votes which was 6.19% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Adi Narayana Reddy Chadipiralla of INC won this seat defeating Rama Subba Reddy Ponnapureddy of TDP by a margin of 7,384 votes which was 4.24% of the total votes polled for the seat.
