In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Mule Sudheer Reddy of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Rama Subba Reddy Ponnapureddy of TDP by a margin of 51,641 votes which was 25.33% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Adinarayana Reddy Chadipirala of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Ramasubbareddy Ponnapureddy of TDP by a margin of 12,167 votes which was 6.19% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Adi Narayana Reddy Chadipiralla of INC won this seat defeating Rama Subba Reddy Ponnapureddy of TDP by a margin of 7,384 votes which was 4.24% of the total votes polled for the seat.
