In 2014, Doctor Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Jupudi Prabhakara Rao of YSRCP by a margin of 5,440 votes which was 2.97% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Gurrala Venkata Seshu of INC won this seat defeating Sri Bala Veeranjaneya Swami Dola of TDP by a margin of 5,164 votes which was 3.34% of the total votes polled for the seat.
