In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Nara Chandra Babu Naidu of TDP won in this constituency beating Krishna Chandra Mouli of YSRCP by a margin of 30,722 votes which was 16.93% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Nara Chandra Babu Naidu of TDP was the winner in this seat beating K Chandramouli of YSRCP by a margin of 47,121 votes which was 28.65% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Nara Chandrababu Naidu of TDP won this seat defeating M Subramanyam Reddy of INC by a margin of 46,066 votes which was 31.71% of the total votes polled for the seat.
