In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Abdul Aziz Shaik of TDP by a margin of 20,776 votes which was 12.51% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Sannapureddy Suresh Reddy of BJP by a margin of 25,653 votes which was 16.19% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Anam Vivekananda Reddy of INC won this seat defeating Anam Venkata Ramana Reddy of PRAP by a margin of 3,131 votes which was 2.52% of the total votes polled for the seat.
