In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, N Venkate Gowda of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Amarnatha Reddy N of TDP by a margin of 31,616 votes which was 14.44% of the total votes cast. In 2014, N Amaranath Reddy of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating R V Subash Chandra Bose of TDP by a margin of 2,890 votes which was 1.46% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Amaranatha Reddy N of TDP won this seat defeating Reddeppa Reddy R of INC by a margin of 15,548 votes which was 8.98% of the total votes polled for the seat.
