In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, M Babu of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Lalitha Kumari of TDP by a margin of 29,163 votes which was 15.6% of the total votes cast. In 2014, M Sunil Kumar of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating L Lalitha Kumari of TDP by a margin of 902 votes which was 0.53% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Dr P Ravi of INC won this seat defeating L Lalitha Kumari of TDP by a margin of 951 votes which was 0.63% of the total votes polled for the seat.
