There were a total of 1,96,332 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election, of which 95,431 were male, 1,00,892 female and 9 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 1,95,274 registered voters, of which 95,431 were male, 99,929 female and 6 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 1,85,485 registered voters in this constituency, of which 91,246 were male, 94,226 female and 13 of the third gender. In the 2009 polls, the number of total electors was 1,77,633 which included 86,549 male, and 91,084 female.

In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Merugu Nagarjuna of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Ananda Babu Nakka of TDP by a margin of 9,999 votes which was 5.83% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Ananda Babu Nakka of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Merugu Nagarjuna of YSRCP by a margin of 2,127 votes which was 1.34% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Ananda Babu Nakka of TDP won this seat defeating Merugu Nagarjuna of INC by a margin of 2,230 votes which was 1.53% of the total votes polled for the seat.
