In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Anam Ramanarayana Reddy of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Kurugondla Ramakrishna of TDP by a margin of 38,720 votes which was 20.3% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Kurugondla Ramakrishna of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Kommi Lakshmaiah Naidu of YSRCP by a margin of 5,635 votes which was 3.19% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Kurugondla Rama Krishna of TDP won this seat defeating Nedurumalli Rajyalakshmi of INC by a margin of 6,766 votes which was 4.23% of the total votes polled for the seat.
