Bettiah comprises of the following areas of Paschim Champaran district in the Tirhut region of Bihar: CD Block Bettiah; Gram Panchayats ohaddipur, ajhaulia, Parsa, Bahuarawa, Gudara, Jaukatia, Bakharia, Rulahi, Rajabhar, Karamawa, al Saraiya, Ramnagar Bankat, Amawa ajhar, ajharia Sheikh, Ahawar Kuria, adhopur, Senuaria & Bishambharpur of ajhaulia CD Block.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 217.12 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Bettiah is: 26°45'40.7"N 84°36'42.8"E.

In 2015, Madan Mohan Tiwari of INC was the winner in this seat beating Renu Devi of BJP by a margin of 2320 votes which was 1.57% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Renu Devi of BJP won this seat defeating Anil Kumar Jha of IND by a margin of 28789 votes which was 27.12% of the total votes polled for the seat.
