In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Ram Vishun Singh of RJD won in this constituency beating Sribhagwan Singh Kushwaha of LJP by a margin of 22107 votes which was 13.16% of the total votes cast. In 2015, Ram Vishun Singh of RJD was the winner in this seat beating Rakesh Raushan of BLSP by a margin of 10195 votes which was 7.03% of the total votes polled in the constituency.
