Kutumba comprises of the following areas of Aurangabad district in the Magadh region of Bihar: CD Block Kutumba; Gram Panchayats Bedhna, Barandarampur, Banua & Dularey of Deo CD Block; Gram Panchayats Jaihind Tendua, Bariyawan, Sori, Rampur, Basdiha, Mungiya, Khajuri Pandoo, Tandwa, Ramnagar & Harihar Urdana of Nabinagar CD Block

This constituency covers an approximate area of 497.52 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Kutumba is: 24°35'58.6"N 84°14'44.2"E.

A total of three Assembly constituencies in the state of Bihar share borders with Kutumba constituency, which are: Nabinagar, Aurangabad, Imamganj. This constituency shares an inter-state border with Jharkhand.

In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Rajesh Kumar of INC won in this constituency beating Sharwan Bhuiya of HAMS by a margin of 16653 votes which was 12% of the total votes cast. In 2015, Rajesh Kumar of INC was the winner in this seat beating Santosh Kumar Suman of HAMS by a margin of 10098 votes which was 8.41% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Lalan Ram of JDU won this seat defeating Suresh Paswan of RJD by a margin of 13910 votes which was 14.88% of the total votes polled for the seat.
