This constituency covers an approximate area of 281.97 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Manjhi is: 25°54'42.1"N 84°36'43.2"E.

In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Dr. Satyendra Yadav of CPIM won in this constituency beating Rana Pratap Singh of IND by a margin of 25386 votes which was 16.07% of the total votes cast. In 2015, Vijay Shanker Dubey of INC was the winner in this seat beating Keshav Singh of LJP by a margin of 8866 votes which was 6.17% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Gautam Singh of JDU won this seat defeating Hem Narayan Singh of RJD by a margin of 7904 votes which was 7.41% of the total votes polled for the seat.
