In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Akhtarul Islam Shahin of RJD won in this constituency beating Ashwamedh Devi of JDU by a margin of 4714 votes which was 2.84% of the total votes cast. In 2015, Akhtarul Islam Shaheen of RJD was the winner in this seat beating Renu Kumari of BJP by a margin of 31080 votes which was 20.55% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Akhtarul Islam Sahin of RJD won this seat defeating Ramnath Thakur of JDU by a margin of 1827 votes which was 1.56% of the total votes polled for the seat.
