In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Bijendra Prasad Yadav of JDU won in this constituency beating Minnatullah Rahmani of INC by a margin of 28099 votes which was 16.37% of the total votes cast. In 2015, Bijendra Prasad Yadav of JDU was the winner in this seat beating Kishor Kumar of BJP by a margin of 37397 votes which was 24.85% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Bijendra Prasad Yadav of JDU won this seat defeating Ravindra Kumar Raman of RJD by a margin of 15400 votes which was 12.69% of the total votes polled for the seat.
