In the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Vinod Kumar Singh of CPI(ML)(L) won in this constituency beating Nagendra Mahto of BJP by a margin of 14,545 votes which was 06.84% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Nagendra Mahto of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Vinod Kumar Singh of CPIMLL by a margin of 4,339 votes which was 2.26% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Vinod Kumar Singh of CPIMLL won this seat defeating Nagendra Mahto of JVM by a margin of 6,718 votes which was 4.51% of the total votes polled for the seat.
