In the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Rameshwar Oraon of INC won in this constituency beating Sukhdeo Bhagat of BJP by a margin of 30,150 votes which was 17.30% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Kamal Kishore Bhagat of AJSU was the winner in this seat beating Sukhdeo Bhagat of INC by a margin of 592 votes which was 0.4% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Kamal Kishor Bhagat of AJSU won this seat defeating Sukhdeo Bhagat of INC by a margin of 606 votes which was 0.52% of the total votes polled for the seat.
