Aroor Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Alappuzha district in the Travancore region of Kerala: Arookutty, Aroor, Chennam-Pallippuram, Ezhupunna, Kodamthuruth, Kuthiathode, Panavally, Perumbalam, Thycattussery and Thuravoor Panchayat in Cherthala Taluk.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 159 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Aroor is: 9°47'37.0"N 76°19'49.8"E.

In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, Daleema of CPIM won in this constituency beating Adv Shanimol Osman of INC by a margin of 7013 votes which was 4.29% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Adv.A.M.Ariff of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating Adv.C.R.Jayaprakash of INC by a margin of 38519 votes which was 23.8% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Adv.Am.Ariff of CPIM won this seat defeating A.A.Shukoor of INC by a margin of 16852 votes which was 11.49% of the total votes polled for the seat.
