Balusseri Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Kozhikode district in the Malabar region of Kerala: Atholi, Balusseri, Kayanna, Koorachundu, Kottur, Naduvannur, Panangad, Ulliyeri and Unnikulam Panchayats in Quilandy Taluk.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 343 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Balusseri is: 11°29'37.0"N 75°50'42.7"E.

In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, Adv K M Sachindev of CPIM won in this constituency beating Dharmajan Bolgatty of INC by a margin of 20372 votes which was 11.22% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Purushuan Kadalundi of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating U.C Raman Padanilam of IND by a margin of 15464 votes which was 8.86% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Purushan Kadalundi of CPIM won this seat defeating A. Balaram of INC by a margin of 8882 votes which was 5.88% of the total votes polled for the seat.
