Chittur Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Palakkad district in the Cochin region of Kerala: Chittur-Thathamangalam Municipality and Eruthempathy, Kozhinjampara, Nalleppilly, Pattanchery, Perumatty and Vadakarapathy Panchayats in Chittur Taluk; Peruvemba and Polpully Panchayats in Palakkad Taluk.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 320 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Chittur is: 10°42'35.3"N 76°48'07.2"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 79.15%, while it was 83.05% in 2016, and 81.18% in 2011.

In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, K Krishnankutty of JDS won in this constituency beating Adv Sumesh Achuthan of INC by a margin of 33878 votes which was 22.34% of the total votes cast. In 2016, K Krishnankutty of JDS was the winner in this seat beating K Achuthan of INC by a margin of 7285 votes which was 4.72% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, K.Achuthan of INC won this seat defeating S. Subhash Chandrabose of CPIM by a margin of 12330 votes which was 9.05% of the total votes polled for the seat.
