Kalamassery Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Ernakulam district in the Cochin region of Kerala: Kalamassery Municipality in Kanayannur Taluk and Alangad, Eloor, Kadungalloor, Kunnukara, and Karumalloor Panchayats in Paravoor Taluk.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 119 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Kalamassery is: 10°05'25.4"N 76°18'58.0"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 75.98%, while it was 81.32% in 2016, and 79.77% in 2011.

In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, P Rajeeve of CPIM won in this constituency beating Adv V E Abdul Gafoor of IUML by a margin of 15336 votes which was 9.94% of the total votes cast. In 2016, V K Ebrahim Kunju of IUML was the winner in this seat beating A M Yousaf of CPIM by a margin of 12118 votes which was 7.82% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, V. K. Ebrahim Kunju of MUL won this seat defeating K. Chandran Pillai of CPIM by a margin of 7789 votes which was 5.92% of the total votes polled for the seat.
