Thiruvambady Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Kozhikode district in the Malabar region of Kerala: Karassery, Kodencheri, Kodiyathur, Koodaranji, Mukkom, Puthuppadi and Thiruvambadi Panchayats in Kozhikode Taluk.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 428 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Thiruvambady is: 11°21'57.2"N 76°02'04.9"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 77.17%, while it was 80.57% in 2016, and 79.42% in 2011.

In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, Linto Joseph of CPIM won in this constituency beating C P Cheriya Muhammed of IUML by a margin of 4643 votes which was 3.26% of the total votes cast. In 2016, George M. Thomas of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating V M Ummer Master of IUML by a margin of 3008 votes which was 2.22% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, C Moyinkutty of MUL won this seat defeating George M Thomas of CPIM by a margin of 3833 votes which was 3.31% of the total votes polled for the seat.
