Thrikkakara Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Ernakulam district in the Cochin region of Kerala: Wards No.31, 33, 34 & 36 to 51 of Kochi (M. Corporation) and Thrikkakara Panchayat in Kanayannur Taluk.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 54 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Thrikkakara is: 9°59'51.4"N 76°18'56.2"E.

In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, Adv P T Thomas of INC won in this constituency beating Dr J Jacob of IND by a margin of 14329 votes which was 10.55% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Adv.P T Thomas E of INC was the winner in this seat beating Dr.Sebastian Paul of CPIM by a margin of 11996 votes which was 8.87% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Benny Behanan of INC won this seat defeating M.E. Hassainar of CPIM by a margin of 22406 votes which was 19.01% of the total votes polled for the seat.
