Location

The geographic coordinates of Betul is: 21°49'55.9"N 77°54'05.0"E. Betul shares its borders with four other Assembly constituencies in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The other Madhya Pradesh Assembly constituencies adjacent to Betul are: Multai, Amla, Ghodadongri, Bhainsdehi. This constituency shares an inter-state border with: no other state.

Election results

In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, Nilay Vinod Daga of INC won in this seat defeating Hemant Vijay Khandelwal of BJP by a margin of 21,645 which was 11.51% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 51.44% in 2018 in this seat.

In 2013, Hemant Vijay Khandelwal of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Hemant Wagadre of INC by a margin of 24,347 votes which was 15.51% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 52.83% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Alkesh Arya of BJP won this seat beating Vinod Daga of INC by a margin of 5,391 votes which was 4.49% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 48.29% in the seat.

Betul Assembly constituency has an estimated Scheduled Caste population of 9.21% and an estimated Scheduled Tribe population of 23.62%, according to the report of the Delimitation Commission of 2008. The estimated literacy level of the district in which this constituency falls in is 68.9%, according the Census of India, 2011.
