In 2013, Mamta Meena of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Shivnarayan Meena of INC by a margin of 34,901 votes which was 24.07% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 57.1% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Shivnarayan Meena of INC won this seat beating Mamta Meena of BJP by a margin of 8,022 votes which was 8% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 33.96% in the seat.

Chachoda comprises of the following areas of Guna district in the Chambal region of Madhya Pradesh: Kumbhraj Tehsil, Chachoura Tehsil, 22 Jangru, 23 Mohamadpur, 24 Kajaliya, 25 Madusudangarh, 26 Garkheda, 27 Barod, 28 Diroli, 29 Shahpur, 30 Nasirpur, 31 Nagankhedi, 32 Durgapur, 33 Khairkheda Patwari Circles of Maksudan Garh RI Circle of Raghogarh Tehsil.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 1,471 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Chachoda is: 24°13'57.0"N 77°02'43.4"E.

A total of five Assembly constituencies in the state of Madhya Pradesh share borders with Chachoda constituency, which are: Raghogarh, Sironj, Berasia, Biaora, Rajgarh. This constituency shares an inter-state border with Baran and Jhalawar districts of Rajasthan.
