The geographic coordinates of Gotegaon is: 22°54'18.4"N 79°24'50.0"E. Gotegaon shares its borders with four other Assembly constituencies in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The other Madhya Pradesh Assembly constituencies adjacent to Gotegaon are: Bargi, Lakhanadon, Narsingpur, Amarwara. This constituency shares an inter-state border with: no other state.

Election results

In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, Narmada Prasad Prajapati (N P ) of INC won in this seat defeating Dr Kailash Jatav of BJP by a margin of 12,583 which was 7.89% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 49.74% in 2018 in this seat.

In 2013, Dr Kailash Jatav of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Narmada Prasad Prajapati (N P ) of INC by a margin of 20,171 votes which was 13.98% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 51.81% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Narmada Prasad Prajapati of INC won this seat beating Shekhar Choudary of BJP by a margin of 22,320 votes which was 18.69% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 44.94% in the seat.
