The geographic coordinates of Hoshangabad is: 22°40'59.9"N 77°43'45.8"E. Hoshangabad shares its borders with three other Assembly constituencies in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The other Madhya Pradesh Assembly constituencies adjacent to Hoshangabad are: Seoni Malwa, Sohagpur, Budhni. This constituency shares an inter-state border with: no other state.

Election results

In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, Dr Sitasaran Sharma of BJP won in this seat defeating Sartaj Singh of INC by a margin of 15,217 which was 9.69% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 52.34% in 2018 in this seat.

In 2013, Dr Sita Sharan Sharma of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Ravi Kishor Jaiswal of INC by a margin of 49,296 votes which was 34.6% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 64.41% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Girja Shanker Sharma of BJP won this seat beating Vijay Dubey (Kaku Bhai) of INC by a margin of 25,320 votes which was 25.6% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 55.14% in the seat.
