In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, Akash Kailash Vijaywargiya of BJP won in this seat defeating Ashwin Joshi of INC by a margin of 5,751 which was 4.37% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 50.96% in 2018 in this seat.

In 2013, Miss Usha Thakur (Didi) of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Ashwin Joshi of INC by a margin of 13,318 votes which was 10.43% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 53.51% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Ashwin Joshi of INC won this seat beating Gopikrishna Nema of BJP by a margin of 402 votes which was 0.42% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 47.01% in the seat.

Assembly constituency no.206. Indore-3 comprises of the following areas of Indore district in the Malwa North region of Madhya Pradesh: Ward No 18, 26 to 30, 41 to 45 and 57 to 61 of Indore (Municipal Corporation and Out Growth) of Indore Tehsil.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 15 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Indore-3 is: 22°41'26.5"N 75°51'32.8"E.
