Location

The geographic coordinates of Kotama is: 23°14'57.1"N 82°01'44.8"E. Kotama shares its borders with two other Assembly constituencies in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The other Madhya Pradesh Assembly constituencies adjacent to Kotama are: Jaitpur, Anuppur. This constituency shares an inter-state border with: Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi and Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur districts of Chhattisgarh.

Election results

In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, Suneel Kumar of INC won in this seat defeating Dilip Kumar Jaishwal of BJP by a margin of 11,429 which was 10.39% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 43.87% in 2018 in this seat.

In 2013, Manoj Kumar Agrawal of INC emerged victorious in this seat beating Rajesh Soni of BJP by a margin of 1,546 votes which was 1.49% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 36.87% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Dilip Jaisawal of BJP won this seat beating Manoj Kumar Agrawal of INC by a margin of 1,849 votes which was 2.12% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 25.72% in the seat.
