In 2013, Dilip Singh Shekhawat of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Dilip Gurjar of INC by a margin of 16,115 votes which was 10.85% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 52.55% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Dilip Singh Gurjar of INC won this seat beating Dilip Singh Shekhawat of BJP by a margin of 9,892 votes which was 8.7% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 50.31% in the seat.

Nagada - Khacharod comprises of the following areas of Ujjain district in the Malwa North region of Madhya Pradesh: Khachrod Tehsil, 1 Tuttiakhedi, 2 Banvada, 4 Bercha, 5 , Kalsi, 6 Kilodiya, 7 Nipaniya, 15 Banbani, 16 Ajimabad Pardi, 17 Nayan, 18 Bhilsuda and 21 Simrol Patwari Circles of Nagda R, I Circle of Nagda Tehsil and Nagda (M) Municipality.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 771 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Nagada - Khacharod is: 23°26'02.0"N 75°19'02.6"E.
