In 2013, Yadavendra Singh of INC emerged victorious in this seat beating Gaganendra Pratap Singh of BJP by a margin of 10,064 votes which was 6.8% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 37.75% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Nagendra Singh of BJP won this seat beating Yadvendra Singh of INC by a margin of 6,982 votes which was 5.87% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 30.45% in the seat.

Nagod comprises of the following areas of Satna district in the Vindhya Pradesh region of Madhya Pradesh: Unchehara Tehsil, Jaso RI Circle of Nagod Tehsil, 28 Patwara, 29 Majhgawan, 30 Chankuiya, 31 Rajapur, 32 Nagod and 33 Gangwariya Patwari Circles of Nagod RI Circle of Nagod Tehsil, Nagod (Nagar Panchayat) NPT.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 967 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Nagod is: 24°26'00.6"N 80°39'32.4"E.
