In 2013, Madhu Bhagat of INC emerged victorious in this seat beating Ram Kishor (Nano) Kaware of BJP by a margin of 2,849 votes which was 1.86% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 32.13% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Ramkishor (Nano) Kawre of BJP won this seat beating Kankar Munjare of SHS by a margin of 8,066 votes which was 6.54% of the total votes polled in the constituency. SHS had a vote share of 29.44% in the seat.

Paraswada comprises of the following areas of Balaghat district in the Mahakoshal region of Madhya Pradesh: Lamta and Hatta RI Circles of Balaghat Tehsil, 9 Magardarra, 10 Samanapur, 11 Jarera and 15 Manegown Patwari Circles of Balaghat RI Circle of Balaghat Tehsil, Paraswada RI Circle of Baihar Tehsil and Rajegaon RI Circle of Kirnapur Tehsil.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 2,107 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Paraswada is: 22°03'22.7"N 80°15'43.9"E.
