In 2013, Kalsingh Bhabar of IND emerged victorious in this seat beating Gendal Damor of INC by a margin of 5,116 votes which was 3.03% of the total votes polled in the constituency. IND had a vote share of 37.66% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Bhuriya Veersingh of INC won this seat beating Kalsingh Fulji Bhabhar of BJP by a margin of 8,102 votes which was 7.71% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 43.49% in the seat.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 1,076 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Thandla is: 23°01'47.6"N 74°34'31.4"E.

A total of three Assembly constituencies in the state of Madhya Pradesh share borders with Thandla constituency, which are: Jhabua, Petlawad, Sailana. This constituency shares an inter-state border with Banswara district of Rajasthan, Dohod district of Gujarat.
