In 2013, T Sangkunga of INC emerged victorious in this seat beating Zoramthanga of MNF by a margin of 798 votes which was 7.03% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 43.37% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, B Lalthlengliana of MNF won this seat beating H Thangchuanga of INC by a margin of 467 votes which was 4.39% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 35.58% in the seat.

Assembly constituency no.25. East tuipui comprises of the following areas of Champhai district in the North region of Mizoram: Villages S Khawbung, Zawlsei, Khuangthing, Bungzung, Zawngtetui, Khuangleng, Bulfekzawl, Sesih, Vanzau, leithum, Dungtlang (old), Dungtlang (New), leisenzo, lianpui, Sazep, Farkawn, Khankawn, Thekte, Thekpui, Vaphai, Chawngtui 'e', Vangchhia, Samthang (old), Samthang (New), Hruaikawn (old), Hruaikawn (New) and Buang in Khawbung R D Block.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 605 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of East tuipui is: 23°11'31.2"N 93°16'33.6"E.

A total of three Assembly constituencies in the state of Mizoram share borders with East tuipui constituency, which are: Champhai South, Tuichang, Hrangturzo. This constituency shares an inter-state/international border with Myanmar.
