In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Raghunandan Das of BJD won in this constituency beating Lalatendu Mohapatra of INC by a margin of 54,583 votes which was 28.3% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Prasanta Kumar Muduli of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Lalatendu Mohapatra of INC by a margin of 29,354 votes which was 16.14% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Prasanta Kumar Muduli of BJD won this seat defeating Umesh Chandra Swain of INC by a margin of 31,385 votes which was 20.35% of the total votes polled for the seat.
