In 2014, Nityananda Sahoo of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Jay Narayan Mohanty of INC by a margin of 6,433 votes which was 4% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Raghunath Mohanty of BJD won this seat defeating Jaynarayan Mohanty of INC by a margin of 9,530 votes which was 6.49% of the total votes polled for the seat.
