In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Susanta Kumar Behera of BJD won in this constituency beating Agasti Behera of BJP by a margin of 6,794 votes which was 4.12% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Susanta Kumar Behera of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Agasti Behera of INC by a margin of 9,807 votes which was 7.09% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Khageswar Behera of BJD won this seat defeating Agasti Behera of INC by a margin of 4,906 votes which was 4.09% of the total votes polled for the seat.
